About Me

Hi, I'm Madison

I'm a Women's Health Functional Dietitian, a wife, and a mom of three. My work as a dietitian in both the clinical and wellness settings gave me a lot of practical knowledge and experience, but I discovered my true passion once I utilized functional nutrition in my quest to heal after I had children.

Like many women, I struggled with unexpected challenges surrounding my pregnancies. An unplanned C-section for my second birth and hypothryoid I developed afterward resulted in months (and years!) spent navigating my own health and wellness. These experiences really woke me up to the massive gap in information, options, support and communication regarding women's health specifically.

Like so many others, I was gien minimal information, few choices, and very little explanation. I did what I thought was best in that moment, but there were a lot of missing pieces.

Postpartum care was another big wake up call for me. An under-functioning thyroid, poor energy, mineral deficiencies, and mood issues came out of the woodwork and put me on a journey that required advocating for myself and healing myself, and learning a lot in the process. This would serve as the catalyst that would inspire me to help others in similar boats!

The more I dug into the birthing and postpartum support discrepancy, the more I uncovered that this problem is not confined to those areas- it also plagues period issues, fertility options, and contraception information. And MANY others, but this is where my personal experience landed me.

And this is why I have so much passion for supporting and educating women in this space - where proper support and education are so greatly lacking. We have been conditioned to set the bar at survival-the bare minimum. But I believe that with the right tools, educaiton, and support, we can give our bodies what they need to funciton in a thriving state - to feel good. Have the pregnancy we want, the period we want, the energy..the list goes on. We just need the right support to get there!

Professional Background

My interest in natural alternatives to “conventional” treatments led me to pursue training in functional nutrition with certification as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Care Practitioner, in addition to my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee. I quickly learned during my dietetic internship at Tulane University that nothing convenient comes without a price. A “quick fix” is usually not a fix at all, rather it becomes band-aid preventing the discovery of a truly sustainable solution (and often at the cost of a new set of side effects).

A client is more than her symptoms and should be treated as such. That's why I am passionate about looking at the whole person – your history, your sleep, your stress, your labs, your environment, etc. I want to dig deep and find the root cause of what ails you, and I promise to be your fervent advocate on that journey. I also understand we are juggling more responsibilities than ever and that complicated, restrictive treatments will never equate to a life-long practice of well-being. I want to work alongside you to cultivate realistic solutions that are sustainable, practical, and as holistic as possible. I believe that you deserve personalized answers about your body, and not just to survive, but thrive! Allow me to be your partner in your personalized journey to optimal health.
